Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) was introduced more than 30 years ago in Europe and has recently been approved by the FDA as a safe and effective treatment for the loss and thinning of hair.
It has effectively been used for many years in the fields of dermatology, orthopedics, optometrics and for wound treatment.
In 1967, it was discovered that it would stimulate hair growth when Endre Mester was experimenting with the laser and its effects on skin cancer. All of the mice were shaven. The mice in the test group were treated with LLLT, while the mice in the placebo group were treated with LED light. He noticed that the hair was growing back much quicker on the mice that were treated with LLLT.
